Anyone having issues with UPS overnight to the East Coast? I've had 3 out of 5 shipments in the last two weeks get hung up in Louisville and take an extra day .... boo hiss ..... always from the West Coast. DD from Wisconsin both fine.

One of the three was fine, the other a charnel bag .... the third we shall find out tomorrow. In theory fish are bagged for 2 days, but temp becomes the problem. My bag of death was at 92 degrees.

I haven't had a ton of packages come from the West coast. I had a six line wrasse come from Unique Corals about a year ago, which came in just fine overnight. Most of my stuff comes from FL, and I haven't had a single one of those packages get delayed.

A few months ago my LA shipment got delayed an extra day in Louisville. I think 3 of the 5 fish were DOA.

I have 2 shipments coming from LA and DD tomorrow morning, we'll see.
I did get a LA order 2 weeks ago without issue.

I had a UPS package delayed in Louisville almost two weeks ago because of the remnants of hurricane Alberto. Luckily, I picked it up at the service center only a few hours later than promised. This was a Friday so if I hadn't gotten it then it would have been Monday. This was coming to Texas from LA. UPS put the word out that things were back on schedule now.

we had some pretty significant storms the last couple of days in the evenings here.. It's thunderstorm season here right now. things get bunged up pretty bad when its sent on a "just in time" scenario.. which most of the overnight stuff is.

That what I gather. Typically I don't order fish in the very coldest or warmest months. Didn't think we were quite there yet, but perhaps we are.

I don't order enough to spot "trends", but did have a UPS order from the West Coast delayed due to "mechanical failure", that was back in April, from AquaSD - most of the corals arrived alive, and remain so to this day.

Recently had a shipment from NY to CT "damaged" by Fedex. Four fish vanished without a trace, 3 DOA, and four down within the first three days at home. Out of an order of 14, I'm down to maybe 3 (Leopard wrasse left the sand only briefly, and hasn't been sighted for a couple of days.)

It's a risky game that we play . . .

Pretty sure vendors or fellow reefers ive used always use FedEx and never had any real issues... knock on wood

I’ve definitely had an LA/DD package make it to NYC (from LA) only to be rerouted back to Louisville. Particularly upsetting, since the UPS distribution center in Manhattan is across the street from my office.

Thankfully everything survived the extra 24 hrs in the bag.
