Urchin hasn't moved in a week

So my urchin has been in between some rocks for about a week now and hasn't moved... He hasn't lost any spines that I am aware of and I looked at him up close and he was moving some spines... Is he dying, stuck, lazy? Or what's happening? Do I need to move him? He is attached to the side so he is still holding on so it is most likely alive right now... Also I apologize I feel like I am on here all the time asking questions i feel really dumb sometimes for all the questions I ask.

You can see its spines but it's kind of hard to see it...

I would say that he is alive because he is still attacked to the side of the rock. Is it loosing any spines? If so then it is dying. I don't think it would be stuck. I am not sure what is wrong with it but some other people will chime in.

I find my urchin finds a spot he really likes and hangs out there during the day to hide. He moves around at night, and returns back to that same spot.

check yours at different hours and see if he's moved.

Position a spotlight or a flashlight on him for a hour or so and he'll move.

Some Urchins are nocturnal, they feed/graze at night and return to their spot prior to lights coming on.

Try adding some nori strip before the lights go off for him to graze on.

I can't really tell from the photo, what kind of urchin is it? Because if it's the rock boring type, that's fairly normal behavior.

+1 to checking at night. Most urchins are nocturnal.

It's a pink pincushion urchin...

I don't think it has lost any spines I don't see any that have fallen off but he is in a difficult place to see vet well

I don't have a clip because I can usually hand feed him nori... He comes to the top and takes it out of my hand... Do I just try to attach it to a rock with a rubber band or something?

I have had luck feeding this way. I got the tiny clear hairbands from Claires and just attach small folded pieces of nori sheets to a piece of rock. Set it on the sand and everyone goes nuts! Looks better than a clip IMO.

Is it fine that I have shrimp? My cleaner shrimp is eating a ton of the nori... I'm afraid he will overeat...

I dont know much about shrimp, but he looks fat and happy!

I use to stick a piece of nori between the mag float. The Urchin got in a routine of going to the mag float to eat the nori.
