Urchin ID

Hey Guys,

I put the flash light helm on and found this urchin. Can you tell me, is it reef safe? It is so tiny smaller than a dime

Echinometra mathaei, a common rock boring species. I've had two of them for several years that came in as hitchhikers. During the day they hide and wedge themselves in the rock and they come out at night.

Most definitely a rock boring urchin. Too dark of a photo to be sure it is E. Mathaei IMO. There are multiple species but all of them are basically harmless. I have several in my tank.
