Tonight during a water change my urchin started spawning like crazy. It’s a nano tank and I do big water changes (50%), but this is like his 20th or so water change and it’s been fine before. Only difference this time is I did it later - specifically when the lights went out for the night.

cooincidence or do you think it’s stress related? I checked all my parameters thinking I did something bad (like maybe my salinity was off), but everything was good.

thoughts?

Ya I’m worried. He looks fine now - he’s moving around munching on coraline like he always does. But he started spawning right after I dumped in the new water. That tells me I screwed up - but I don’t know with what. I hope he doesn’t die in a couple of days - he’s my favorite inhabitant :)

Idk, keep an eye on it. Evidently a dyeing sea urchin spawns and rots out. If it dose not die maybe you will have lots of baby sea urchins.
