hey guys not to alarm anyone but I need an answer fast. My lfs had a clam with receded mantle "pinched mantle disease" now I picked it up from them in the hopes of rescuing it. My question is should I do the fw dip before I acclimate it to my tank or should I acclimate it to the tank and then dip. Regardless I would like any input on this . thanks in advance

How about an update?
So I picked up this clam from the LFS. It was in a very bad shape. I mean it wasn't just a pinched mantle , the flesh receded about 1.5" into the clams shell. I immediately freshwater dipped it, the mantle started coming out a little by little every day the flesh even started going out past the shell at this point. I've had it for about 10 days. I am in the process of moving the tanks so I put this guy in an old tank. As it happens I took out the heater from my old tank. Checked on the clam at night , it was good. I sleep with my outside door open , the temperature dropped to 60 degrees at night , woke up in the morning the temp in my tank is 75 instead of the usual 82 . Well you can guess the rest...

One of my clam was having PMD a few weeks ago. I moved it higher for more light exposure and survived. Not sure why, but closer to the light saved my day. Now he is happy at his previous spot.
