Urgent heater help!

So I am setting up a lagoon 25 and cause there isn’t much space in the chambers, I am going to put a ehime have trutemp heater (which is a glass heater) with a few media bags full of matrix. Is this safe to allow the bags to touch the heater? Also I have an acrylic container full of bio ball resting on to of the return pump, not on the intake area. Is this ok? Thankyou

the heater needs to be clear of everything and in decent flow. if not the heaters lifespan is reduced and if to much is touching it it can break from overheating.

something on the return pump doesn't seem like a very bad idea to me, seems fine as long as you don't restrict flow to much.

if you are diy capable you could plug a external return pump into a pvc pipe that houses the heater, fixes both your current problems and frees up space for other things. needs some careful design but can be done.

My heater is on top of stuff. its actually jammed in my sump media bags have most definitely touched it for a long time and nothing happened. Do you have a temp controller or are you using the internal temp controller of the heater?

If it’s a glass heater without the plastic cage around it, just glass, it can touch nothing as it will burn it.

Fine if it’s got a cage....

That glass gets hot!

What all are you running in your chambers? If I couldn't fit the matrix in one of the media baskets, I'd probably just set it between the returns lines.

Thankyou, but I think I found a solution. I put the heater in the extra return chamber space and dedicated the original heater chamber to mangroves and macro
