Guys I just transferred my fish and coral from a 125 to a 215... I placed the RBT on his own island with his own rock he was attached too. Of course he moved... but heres the thing...
His foot is attached to my 12" red monitpora!!! How the hell do I move him now without breaking my monti to pieces! Its stressing the monti out and slowly killing it I'm sure. This RBT has slayed many of my corals. Usually I just move the rock he's attached too. But this time hes attached to the underside of a coral itself!

Try using a piece of airline hose attached to an air pump, to try and irritate the foot. Hopefully it will encourage it to move. I've done this with my GBTA, and it worked so well, my anemone ended up cloning as well. Lol

if you can't remove the rock and massage the foot to get it to detach, I would place a powerhead right at it and hell move.

I could... but im sure while removing the foot ill end up breaking the monti to pieces since its literally attached itself to the coral itself. Ill try the powerhead

Unfortunately I have rodi tubing but no pump to run it... might have to get one. Thank you!

I just blasted him for 5 minutes holding my monti and rbt in the water up to the powerhead. Its ticked off but didn't release his foot. How hard is it to remove the foot? I'm scared of the tentacles and breaking the monti trying to do it..

That why the air line hose works different. You are directly irritating the foot, but at a gentler rate.

Tried to remove its foot. Ended up breaking off good chunks of my monti and tearing the nems foot in the process. This hobby is more stressful then joyful at times!

So did you get it out???
The good news is, the red Monti cap with grow back super fast....

6 months ago, I had to tear my SPS dominant display tank apart due to 1 Rainbow BTA splitting 50 times in one year.... Had to take every rock out of display and relocate them :(

BTA’s can be super aggressive in a reef tank and if they are splitting and breeding put corals at risk. I have learned by experience above, they should really be in a species specific tank with clownfish.....

No I stopped as soon as I tore him. At this point Im just gonna let it do its thing.
