Urgh seriously.

Hello,

Well I am now starting a new 240. It was sad to see this tank go:(. But hopefully I can get it close to what it was prior.

The weight should compress wood and keep everything stable as long as base is solid

Wait... am I reading that right? You're getting a new 240 gallon tank? Or do you mean you're starting over with the old one?

Lol... I also appreciate your belief in my ability to reinforce the floor! ;Hilarious Not sure I'd be willing to, even if I could. I would want someone else to be responsible if something went wrong.

Hello,

No oh heck no it the same tank but not sure I’m gonna get the same rock scape or if every thing survives. I’m hoping it does but things are not happy

Looking good so far. I hope you have a bathroom on the ground floor of this house. :-) When do you have to go back to work? I hope you have some time to recuperate a little before pulling another 24-hour shift. It is underway though. You will get through it. Better days ahead!

Most things look rough during transport. I doubt that's an indication of much. The only thing is, getting them all settled back in as quickly as possible.

Hello

Sadly I have to work tonight so the shop ahhh didn’t take my advice :(. I said it would be much easier to put all the base rock in first then sand then add all the rock w coral on them. To my surprise (I have to work tonight so had to leave). So they told me the corals should be fine in the buckets tonight and set the house to 76.

I’m less than thrilled about that since they just hooked up the five wave makers. The sump isn’t flowing yet so concerned about that. All fish are in the tank but they are super mad and my naso tang took a nice slice in one of their hands. Can’t say I blame the fish I sorta wrecked their home :(.

This time I left a lot of room to work behind the tank. I want clean cords and access to everything possible.

Hello,

I ahh told them it’s a full reef and would take full 8 hours but they showed up at 1. So my plan was to have the tank down as little as possible because last time that’s how things died. So it’s gonna be a very long two days.

lol @Musovski no not yet but give me time, with as much room that I left any one could have access lol.

Is your big tank still at the Boise post office ?

Hello,

Yes it’s set to be delivered on the 19th with all my other stuff. It will sit in the garage for the time being. I did not think this tank would be this hard to move to begin with. I still think if we had placed all base rocks first then added sand then water would have been faster and easier.

It seems I have to move things twice and take things out again just to place base rock which may make it cloudy again. But I’m not off work till 8 tonight so already feeling exhausted.

Wow look at you go! Impressive work under the house, not my favorite place to work ether. Home depot has tyvac suites
for jobs like that, around ten bucks, keeps the itches away (fiber-glass) .
Not sure whats up with the fam, but hey Im sure everyone here is very Proud of your accomplishments, keep it up!

Good job Sarah! By the way the spell checker is killing floor joists for you lol! There now you can cut and paste! If Boise was not 6 hours away I would pop by and finish the tank transfer for you! Hope the corals do just fine.

Hello,

So as I fall asleep writing this (heads falls on desk thunk!) was off at 8 and re did my rock structure and put the other corals in. I am certain I lost my season greetings, pink bxxbies, strawberry napalm, acros lost frog skin, lost a partial forest fire digi and not sure on others. Not sure how things will fair. Was suppose to take pictures of it and forgot but will in the morning or we’ll later today. But I can assure you that it’s unwise to build your rock structure looking down from the top. Ops. Simply because looking at it from the front let’s say well I absolutely hate it. So I’m gonna change things but I have no idea as to what.

My thoughts on moving a tank lol are not good. Yes the company did the hard work but they were also careless and for example I have never seen another strawberry napalm like I had. As some close friends told me that when this tank came up almost 2 years ago it was rough and it looked great. It’s really difficult going from great to start over feeling.

A positive is I did see all my fish happy up till I moved rocks and destroyed their home yet again. Falllnf asleep now since I have to be up at 730 for in service (I’m so exhausted).

Sorry for the losses. Sounds like maybe your LFS let you down somewhat. Not getting the move started until late in the day - with your already tight schedule - and then leaving it half-finished would not make me happy. I am assuming they charged you for doing this.

You will get everything back in order and hopefully the tank will recover quickly.

Hello,

Sorry I had to catch up on sleep as I was simply exhausted. So still trying to figure out how I can like my tank again (i love it but you guys know what we mean by that.) it’s kinda like that neat spot or view in finding Nemo, that’s how I am with my tank.

I had my first fish loss yesterday as well my golden goby is mia. He was there when I started to move rocks around. I tried to work in my tank on the opposite side where my fish were. After being bit several times from my clown fish I caught him and stuck him in the sump. Lol he is history, trade him for another clown that doesn’t bite every time I try and help the tank. Although I did Ruin their reef and home and etc. but I tried to put it back. It just turned out way different. Doing the same rock scape is super hard even w pictures.
