Okay so curious question, lol and you will be proud of me it’s actually on topic, (hey look squirrels fighting over nuts). Anyway if my sps and most of my lps and softies are growing great, and water chemistry is great. What would caused my wellsaphylia and tracaphlia to not poof up and lose color. The dark green on my Trac is not a lime green, it has not lost any tissue? My wells won’t poof up huge anymore, and has lost little bit of tissue. I have since turned my lights down even more, but even one of my acans doesn’t want to open up since I added the 3rd light. Even though I’m running them quite a bit lower, is it possible still way too much light? All my sps are doing amazing and growing great and great color! My softies like bubble tips doing great, all my other acans are out except my ultra, and my micromusa was hiding now it’s out. But all other lps are doing awesome. Any ideas what It could be? I do dose fuel and once a week to every two weeks I feed the lps corals.

Sorry I have been quite and not much on updates. Been super super crazy busy with work. I did receive my lights yesterday yay and I haven’t even been able to open them yet. But soooo excited like Alvin in the chipmunks its Christmas we love Christmas.

Also to all the dads who adore and love their children happy father’s day. Remeber if anything they will always love you the most.

@Brew12 lol what’s wrong with teenagers, can’t you just make them clean or something? I thought they would be a blast, my five year old niece is just sooooo much fun. My nephews who are older are lots of fun also but the ones who are 12-14 are a lot of fun in different ways. They are also way more independent, I stopped trying to help them since they seem to know everything

It may not be to much light since the lights have been turned down. I might be that there is not enough light getting down to the corals

@jsker it only started when I added my third marine pro led. Before when I ran two of them everything was super happy and poofy. But the ultra acan and the Wells ans Trac are just so angry and I can’t figure out why. It’s the main reason I was gonna go back to two of them. I have some other acans on the bottom and they are nice and poofy, just not these three which is why I’m lost. There are a few high demanding light corals on the sand bed and they have not changed. So since you run high powered lights I’m definitely eager to se what you think.


@Erica-Renee lol when they are doctors at that age it’s scary on how much they know from books. I tend to realize they are severely lacking in just normal things. I’m way way tooo naive in common sense things. Obviously if Someone says hey let’s go do drugs or steal something I know better. It’s more like hey what level are you in Pokémon go? I’m like ahhhh what the heck is that lol.

They are the really good pros not the ic ones and they are about the same cost as radions actually. The nice thing is they are 72 long and strip style so less shading. The par on these lights is the same or higher than the new radions. The color spectrum could be a tad better but if you adjust them to where you need they look the same. They also grow coral super fast and I haven’t bleached anything yet, and their warranty is light years ahead of any other brand I have seen. The customer service is just stellar compared to anything I have seen.

Well First nope my wife is of the same age before I .. A Mere single digit Number for that 50 number . (URGH ) She has had 31 years of Practice Fixing Me. oops I mean us Coffeee each morning then calling for me to get out of bed or bring it to bed for me. My Choice..This morning she was wanting to do other things instead of bring me coffee....

Is your tank two years old, with the air stone in it or was that a pic of when it was a new tank? Do to the fact I just received three of the new mitras ghl 7200 lights for my 400 I’m curious to see what the puck style lights can do? I have had tremendous luck with the current marine pros but they are a 72 inch strip light with 60 degree lens. I run them on the lowest setting and have great color and growth. It would be nice to see how high you run these and the duration time as well. I really like the hanging bar, is it home made? I still need to figure out how to hang my mitras. I’m worried that because they have to be off the tank, they won’t have as much par and that if I’m sitting on my couch, and look over they are going to blind me. Has this happened with your hydras? Sorry hope this doesn’t high jack the op intent. Just never used puck style leds for more than a month.

My tank is 3.5 years in the making. I have a cyano and I am treating the dt, thus the air stone for treatment to add extra oxygen since the clean depletes the oxygen

I have been running the hydra 26 hds for about 2.5 years. I am thinking of using the Mitras GHL 7200 on a separate build. The light seem to do really well from what I have been reading. The par levels are really good.

I have seen some use the wire from the ceiling to hang the lights. You could also use a one of theses Link attach the lights and then suspend the lights for the ceiling.

If you chemistry is all good, and just the lighting change. Try moving to corals to a different location would be my suggestion.

For your work schedule, the tank looks fantastic. What are you feed them? have thought about spot feed once a week?

Thanks and I really try my tank means so much to me so I do my best with my 100 hours a week now. It’s so crazy and exhausting, but still love it.

So the package food I do twice a week and it’s a spot feed and I use a syringe from the Red Sea aptasia kit (spare one and I have one just for that). The alk, and calcium bottles are powder mixes and I mix them with my ro water every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I just use one table spoon of each normally. I test my water three times a week so see where my levels are. The packaged frozen food is once a day every night at 8. If I’m working then I take my food break during that time and just go home since I’m 10 min away, we get two hours usually, but Min an hour. Sometimes we don’t even get that, but maybe 15 min and then it’s just what every one calls a choke and puke (the hospital food is Urgh so gross how they charge people 100 dollars for food that scavengers won’t even eat lol is beyond me). Then the fuel is same schedule as the alk, and calcium, and the garlic is always with the frozen fish food. I also feed the green nori seaweed three times a week. I have to do two sheets because they gobble it up before I can even get my hand out. My tangs have become carnivores because they keep nipping my little fingers. It actually hurts the little monsters, gosh have ever heard don’t bite the hand that feeds you lol. They keep biting me and I’m gonna serve them with chips lol (totally kidding they are my kids). The cereal fruity dyno bites w yay marshmallows feeds little me once a day.

Wow I moved my ultra acan to the center of the tank and with minutes is happy. What the heck lol they are so picky, he must be a teenager.

Lol @cracker they are amazing until you make me laugh and then regerate through my nasal passage and on to my lap lol. But yes and hey I gained some weight I was 88 now I’m 91, see kids cereal and donuts really are good for you. You should definitely try them, they are the knock off brand of the fruity pebbles from Fred flintstone. I buy these soley for the marshmallows so omg yummy.
