I wouldn’t have had to go on a treasure hunt, which I did find some yummy ice cream at cold stone. Hello friends,
Sorry been super busy with work and had a date with my favorite pillow and blankey. I’m crossing my fingers but I may actually have a day off tomorrow oh no say it’s not so lol. Of course I totally spaced the fact I was out of rodi water and had to top my tank off. After checking places that were open here in Boise I finally had to go to one of the grocery stores here and fill one of my water jugs with the water they sell to drink. It says it’s ran through an rodi system as well. So I added that to top my tank off and added some alpha aka prime to make sure it was neutralized.
Was one of those days where I kept reminding myself lol had them in my Jeep, and drove straight home. Well if I would have drove straight to the lfsI wouldn’t have had to go on a treasure hunt, which I did find some yummy ice cream at cold stone.
So I fragged my last sps that was going through the slow tissue lost and cut pieces about 1/2 inch above where it had the tissue loss. Out of all of them, one started to lose tissue again but made ten frags out of it. Not sure how far you have to break off, but was always told as long as it’s above where the tissue is lost should be fine. I super glued them back into place, so I guess we will see. Any suggestions and I did coral dip them just in case they had issues. Again though they are only the ones from my local fish shop. It has also helped that I turned the light period down to 8 hours instead of 12. It seems to be bringing some of my colors back.
I watched the new avengers movie, hmmmm not sure what to think.
Definitely agree with this. But, don't scare her with the flood possibility. She just needs a float valve in the product water container. It's hard enough to convince her to get one.We all keep thinking you need an RO/DI system, but you would probably always be sleepy when running it and flood the house.
Her life would be so much simpler.
If you buy a RO/DI and it does not come with a Dual tds meter you did not pay enough.Definitely agree with this. But, don't scare her with the flood possibility. I also would not trust the water from one of those RO machines. A TDS meter is something else she should have. And an ATO....![]()
I agree, but I still have a handheld to check my barrel of product water. If you buy a RO/DI and it does not come with a Dual tds meter you did not pay enough.
Sarah needs a Aquarium Boy/Girl and a Whip..... Just saying

. TDS is Total Dissolved Solids. A reading of 0 TDS is a good test to let you know how well your RODI system is working. It doesn't guarantee that the water is safe since it can only detect stuff that makes water conductive but it will let you know when your system isn't working right.Good morning,
Lol what is a tds meter and I have ordered a five stage rodi from my lfs. Of course awww I’ll have to have a plumber install it, and in my garage as well. At least if the check valves fail my garage is floor is kinda slanted. So the water will at least run down out of the garage.
I think I will hold off on getting any new fish, after doing the math lol probably not the best idea. As far as qt when I get fish, I have always put them in a qt. I also always dip the corals as well.
After fragging the sps colony from one huge one to several small ones, so far so good. The polps are still out let’s hope the tissue loss stops. I made ten so plenty of chances for just one to survive lol, it did take me four years to get it a nice large colony.
Lol yes I was already planning an rodi for the new 425, now I just have to go get some nice 50 gallon garbage cans.
(just kidding), I do like the setup it’s what I want to do similar in my garage. I have a three car garage so I’ll use the third space for that set up. What’s also nice is my garage is climate controlled with my house. I won’t have to fret about it being to hot or cold. The Other Side of the Same Room ....Just in case you have not seen it.. The pipe along the wall above the shelf is Drain from tank over flow.. The one on the Right going up is the Return and manifold to power carbon filter and so on.. Behind the Bright Light at the Left is Algae Turf scrubber. its a RGB Light so can adjust color The Sump wit the skimmer is a 70 gallon tank , The upper shallow tank is 5ft long by 18 inches I custom built it Myself to fit that area and have the higher glass walls around the Scrubber. The tank to the Far right is the Gravity fed ato tank. It gets it water from the tanks on the other side of the room Manually.. This is to insure i do not crash the system if the float gets stuck . SUPER SIMPLE AND Water changes are with the Turn of two valves .This has been a slow evolution of what works best for my tank and my Busy life ... Of course gotta have to to get on here .![]()
Hello,
That’s really neat to be able to do that. Most homes in Idaho don’t have a basement. I’d prefer to have all the water noise and what not either in the garage or anywhere but my living room. It’s not that mine is very loud, it’s just the wave maker lights are super bright, plus the water flow is annoying. I was considering doing one huge sump or combing them once my 425 is ready. My only concern is diseases etc or that happens. It would be no different than most aquariums or fish shops that have one huge sump and then plumb it to all their tanks. It would be a larger water volume and even more stable.
My ultimate dream is to lol this is sooooooo bad, but to actually have my tanks in the living room and dead silent. With the new current blue tooth device when the lights go into storm you can plug in speakers. So it sounds like the actual ocean and thunder etc. I can also just do the sound of crashing waves. Which most people will think I’m crazy because I want my tanks quiet but want to have that noise. The difference though is I can turn it actually off, and sleep next to it because it relaxes me. But (now sadly) I’m a super super light sleeper and wake up when I hear noises. Tried doing soft music, and I found my self still singing to it and my toes dancing in bed.
As I finally have a day off, I have actually been kinda productive but sometimes the couch or bed is so convincing especially when it’s 95 outside.
Awesome set up there. How big is the display?? Would love to see pics of that. The Other Side of the Same Room ....Just in case you have not seen it..
