Urgh seriously.

Hello,

Here are some pics and lol ironically didn’t realize dory was sucking down the cough medicine. No wonder she can’t remeber anything and or runs into things :).
But anyway the pics above show the feeder, and you can probably get maybe 30 in there. I mean six didn’t even come close and they are the normal sized frozen cubes.

Oh I could find away trust me have you ever played the board game mouse trap.
Great game, classic. Lol I have some gears turning.
30 cubes wow ! That’s so cool for huge tanks.

Oh yes I love that game and checkers, twister, simon, (think that’s the name) and specially love chess. But I would feed more, yet once they thawed you would have a mass feeding and probably a nitrate spike depending on size. My 425 when ever that actually gets delivered, and setup I could have one right in next to one of the wave makers to toss the food into the current. Would be great right above like my icecap gyre but would make it a pain to get to every day. I’m not exactly tall, in reality I’m lucky on a good day to be five foot four. It doesn’t help that my tank is 34 inches tall, that was a huge huge pain. I would drown myself a few times weekly, and strongly considered a snorkel. But I found this neat very strong 36 inch long razor scraper with a 30 degree bend. I can reach the bottom with out getting wet. Plus in those areas my hands won’t fit, this does so my tank had a major cleaning. Surprising, the blade made it through all three panes of glass and the top of the back pane.

Niceee. I always feel better after I give mine a good scrape as well lol. My fav is when it just slides across the glass, smooth as butter.... no resistance... perfectly silent... ahhh. Lol I like my glass clean, don’t judge !

Hello,

I am the same way, it drives me crazy and I am a little ocd about it. Now I don’t use the razor all the time, I have my magnetic scraper as well. When it’s just the film then I use that one, if there is hard alage or coralline build up then I will. I try to do it twice a week when I’m not at work and a walking zombie with a razor.

Same. I use the flipper thing. It works great.

Hello,

Yet again, I have been looking to get a new home, aka build my own.
I would recommend you make this decision before you set up that big tank. If you are not happy with your house (or neighbors), then maybe get those wheels turning. Are you sure they won't try to send you elsewhere for work though?

Hello,

Sorry @Fin I have been sick and caught head cold and now I have a strange minney mouse voice, if one at all. But you bring up a very very good point I could be moved. It’s doubtful but when I looked more into such ideas it’s a real possibility.

I do love the place I have now, it’s close to work and it’s cozy and has its moments. On the same hand yes there are things I hate such as no bathrooms on the lower floor, and painfully close. A perk is the hoa has people do the yard work for us most of it. Plus again it’s not easy moving a small tank but could you imagine a 240. Then a 425 and a 240, what a nightmare. Probably honestly the fact I know it will damage my 240 really drives me away. It may sound ridiculous but it’s true. I am exhausted most of the time and the idea of me packing the small stuff is just blah. In the course yes I would hire movers to move me and lfs to move my tank. Yet the last time I moved my tank they killed 90% of my corals and fish.

My idea for rock in the 425 would not work well with what’s in my 240. I simply can’t see how I did all the rocks. I did take pics when I first started the base rocks I know. But past that I just kinda hey looks like s good spot for this one. Then I looked at it and changed it a few times to where it had depth and demensions and didn’t just look like a wall.

How much sqft are you in now and what would you be looking at? If it’s a major upgrade I’d move before the build then fill that big house to the brim with reefs over the next few years!

Hello,

The home I have now is 4 bedrooms and I thinks it’s almost 2700 sq feet. The new one is close to 4000 sq feet but I’m going off a model build that I have looked at do to floor plans. The problem also is it’s just me living here and or my new place. Yes my nephews and niece come here often and I have rooms for them set up when they do. But for one person 2700 is awfully large.

In terms of my new one I am so exhausted and sick atm walking up the stairs seems to be difficult. Makes me want a single floor sooo bad right now. But I want to take my time on this new one and literally build the wave makers into the rock work so nothing is seen except the reef. Granted math has been very helpful but still need to figure out the flow will be affected and once the reef grows how it’s aftected.

That’s so sweet that will be so cool! Wow that’s a big house! Lol I had to click on your profile, I was like where does this girl live! 4000sqft would be over 8 million where I live lol. 2700 would be a dream but that still in the 3-6 million range depending on zipcode. Wow, just stay that’s plenty big lol.

Hello,

I did put in for residency for San Francisco but the trauma center basically did everything to get me here in Boise plus most of my family is here. Granted I hate the desert, like someone skate boarding down I80 or I280 during rush hour. But even though they paid quite a bit more, ummm the cost of housing is so wrong. My house here was about 192, 000 and the new one is about 300,000. But my one neighbor sold theirs in two days for 212,000. So my realtor is pretty sure if I go 3 thousand less it would be sold in a week or less. But my loan now is 30 fixed at 3.49% and I really don’t have much debit other than my home. Most of my student loans I was on scholarship, and that was one of the perks as well. They were willing to pay 50% of my student loan which isn’t much for what I have. My undergrad was full ride for academics, but medical school scholarship only covered about 80-85% (meanines).

But the thing about the homes is it’s really creepy at night when there are creeks and snaps lol. Stupid hard wood floors and I (so gonna get embarrassed on this) but I was always taught to set (junk glass drinking cups like on my door handles. When the door is moved or attempted to move it allows the glass to fsll and break. Knowing my luck it will fall and bounce off the floor and crack the wood instead. But that’s also nice about Boise is pretty low crime it’s about 20 years behind, (hint im moving before that 20 years hit lol).

Get a security system! No one will come to help you when that glass hits the floor. I am surprised you don’t have one already.

Wow that’s great to hear! It sounds like you have some flexibility so it’s up to you! Lolol I like your security precautions, that’s so funny.
My house in Pennsylvania always had loud snaps and creaks. I think it’s the drastic temperature change and hard wood floors that do that. It scared me too lol.

Hello,

@Fin I have seriously considered that honestly and lol your gonna think I’m crazy on why I don’t. So in order for me to have one I have to have a land line phone. Well my house doesn’t have any land line phone hook ups. (The designer has so failed common sense for a home lol). So not only do I have to have one installed, no biggie, but I have to pay extra to have phone service (that’s why I have a cell phone). Granted the land lines are absolutely die hard and way more reliable, but it’s like 50 a month, and it stays in my house lol. I even tried to go old fashion and find a rototary phone and havnt found one yet. Idaho is a strange backwards state I have yet to figure it out.

But lol I have stocked up on the little glass cups lol I have only broken couple dozen because I forgot they were there.
But yeah and the price of the security company example peak alarm for the basic service for just the front door, back door and one window (I have 8) it’s almost 60 a month plus the phone line for basic service is about 110 a month and that doesn’t even secure all the windows. Plus I’m required to put this very obnoxiously ugly sign in my flower bed.

Lol I don’t want that dumb thing in my flowers they are pretty and the sign needs serious help, plus possibly makes it a target.

I just got 2 “Ring”’s ; one for the front door, one for the tank lol. It gives me a lot of peace of mind, it starts recording anytime there is movement and saves it to Ring’s cloud so you can review any movement events from anytime. I think it was a few hundred bucks. Worth it IMO.

And it shows the live feed obviously, and you can yell/talk at people through the PA system in it which could potentially be entertaining.

You sound exactly like my son!

Hello,

Lol @Fin omg that is sooo funny but I should do this mini one lol. Sadly people in Idaho are not the sharpest of all 50 states. Just recently I had an individual who said they watched the movie America pie2 which I haven’t seen. But tried something with a band instrument, which sadly I had attend to. Makes me really curious what the movie goes into for people here to assume certain things with umm band instruments lol. I have to say when their parents showed up, it was quite the moment. The dad counldnt stop laughing, and the mom was fairly upset. She kept saying it wasn’t funny, and he only laughed more. So if I put a sign of an attacking hamster or mini dog, maybe they will stop and wonder if I’m serious. If I show a huge dog then they will be like screw it, we brought lots of steaks, we are good.
