Urgh seriously.

It's FORE! :)

Hello,

Well instead of FORE lol how about goose egg coming your wayyyyyyyy! (Smack). Wow so many responses lol I had to double back :). Yes today’s golfing experience was let’s say unique, fun; and embarrassing and lots of walking. I like to walk and run yes but good grief my feet turned green, ahh cause I wore sandals to work today lol (for in service where nobody told me we were gonna golf instead). Not like I have these shoes made for golfing? What really does it help you accomplish, other than umm walking. Wouldn’t a pair of sneakers do just fine lol? Anyway after on the first hole I think I tried maybe 15 20 swings on a par 4. If they want me to go from point a to b (one would think they would use a straight line). Noooooooooooo they have to go this way and that way and ohh to make it worse they put things in your way. Like trees and bushes and water, sand (felt like I was at the beach), just to get in your way. Then after I go through said obstacle course I get grinch toes lol. I’m not found of green toes. But yeah I thought saltwater tanks were expensive but they are cheap compared to this hobby.

The spikes on the bottom of golf shoes keep your feet from sliding when you swing. You likely experienced some loose feet today. :)

Enough for tonight. This old codger is off to bed. Good night!

Grinch toes... never heard that one before! Sounds highly amusing :p

And here you were complaining about us ignoring you :p:p:p

Hello,

Naw I know I’d never be ignored the people on here are too caring and nice. But grinch toes are when well they look like the grinch’s because they errr are green silly. But lol throwing the ball was one way to errr at least move forward lol. Then I was told I had to use a club and the one I pulled didn’t look like the others but more like a baseball bat. It had little slugger on the side (but I was well it’s in the bag and don’t know how to use this the other way) so I tossed my golf ball up and gave it a whack. Surprising it ahh went pretty dang far. Not to mention i had six people laughing so hard they about passed out. But they corrected me and said have you ever play or even watched golf ahhhh Nope. Oh well let’s start at the beginning (and I was oh great now I have to walk back to the start and go again) but I did much better hitting like polo style lol one handed. That stance and finger tie twist was too much for me, plus the clubs loaned to me I think were way way way too big. But it was fun we had some good laughs the entire time. Gee can’t wait to go to work and hear all the stories and or pics they snapped of me. Now gymnastics lol that’s a sport and couch surfing and reefing and cycling lol I can manage all of those really well.

Lol @Fin what no way you can’t go now we have to sit and watch our empty tanks with @JoshH and eat popcorn. Maybe we can have a spelling bee as well :).

Yeah spelling bees and me don't mix very well:p

But couch sitting and popcorn consumption are both things I excel at!

Hello;

So I have to admit I’m not super technical on some things but not stupid (unless it’s golf). Anyway doing daily tank stuff and everything in my tank equipment wise is going great. Then I feed and shut my wave makers off for 10 minutes. Went to turn them on and the entire left side won’t turn on. I had recently cleaned every pump and they are nice and clean. Thought it was a connection error, so I swapped left with right. The right worked on the left side connections and once again all three pumps on the right stopped. So I thought it was a cable and swapped all three same problem. Finally couldn’t figure out if it was the manifolds, the ic manifold or the ic loop controller or wave makers. So I filled my sink up and went to a spare new manifold, new power supply and remote and sensor. Plunged wave makers 1-3 in not a single one worked. Tried the other side all worked.

I then took apart each one and cleaned it with normal water. As I’m doing this and (being safe). I have for example wave maker A where the wet side is in, and impeller is in but left the cover off. With it on full power if I assisted the impeller it started right up and stayed going. Now when I turned it down on stream it change speeds. But when I reached zero it wouldn’t re start again with out assistance. Same thing with wave and surge as soon as it slowed it would stop then go again with assistance. So I have no idea if it’s aka wet side that holds the impeller in or the impeller it’s self. But what would cause three at once to go out. I moved the right side one to the left and then moved the other lower. Then turned the gyre up and put the returns at 80% the highest they have been. Now I have to get ahold of current and see how fast they can warranty them out. I don’t see how it’s the ic manifold or ic controller. They won’t work unless they have power from each wave maker manifold. So I drained the sink filled it with 2 gallons of vinegar and super hot water. I’ll let them soak over night and see what happens. I was also able to assemble the wave maker, and nothing unless I would tap it kinda hard. I’m so can’t seem to understand this, (one yes) three at the same time and all different ages?

That's how they manufacture new golf balls!

Lol, my golf experience wasn't quite as colorful as yours Sarah, but it was close.

Glad mine was with Mom and Dad. Lol, everyone had a good laugh and there was no need for a repeat. ;- )

I'll stick with skydiving and fish tanks.

One of the many reasons I decided to go with a closed loop, less maintenance and less troubleshooting headaches. @Sarah24! I'm not even sure with where to start on your powerhead issue, I'm inclined to think a phone call to Current is required here. 3 Pumps going bad on the same side then swapping and only having the same 3 pumps not work either is VERY unusual.

Hello,

I soaked them in vinegar and they worked this morning until I slowed them down and or turned them off. Once slowed down (wave or pulse) they just stopped. But if I unplugged the wave maker only then sometimes it would start. These were tested on a separate system at my lfs which rules out anything faulty in my system. What’s worse is they are nice and clean even. Yet when I put the impeller in, there was hardly any magnetic force. Not sure if they can loose that but always thought it stayed that way for life.

However three at once concerns me greatly because I havnt found out why yet? Even with new ones what’s to say it won’t happen again. Now I can see one etc that’s normal, but they all worked before I put them into feed mode. Which I do every day with out issues. It can be the wiring or hubs because if so then left side wouldn’t work. But they have been going all night and day with out issue. Now I have to find away to make up the flow difference. Definitely turned the returns up to about 90% I’m just shy of 6,200 + 3,000+6300 so at 15,000 and the recommended flow is 20,000. Sent them a warranty tag, so should expect back soon, they are really good about it.

Have you tried to only swap one of the 3 to the other side to see how it performs?

Hello;

I tried each one individually to no avail and all three to no avail. The three that always are on the left, ran just fine on the right side and I had to move pumps around. I soaked the three overnight in 1/1 vinegar water. Used a new manifold, power supply everything but the pump. It stated right up but if I go to wave motion or pulse it fails, on stream mode as long as it has 2 lights left it will work up to full speed basically. But if I hit feed mode or turn them off, I have to unplug the power supply and plug it in. Sometimes it works other times I have to take the front guard off and assist the impeller and then it works. Was worried maybe the magnets were misplaced when I cleaned. (What holds them to the glass), but when I swapped impellers nothing changed. I honesty don’t know what caused it. They worked fine yesterday, turned them off for feed mode and that was it. Was up all night messing with them and moving other pumps around. But yes I panicked and badly. I can see one but when 3 on the entire right side all on their own manifold linked to the ic hub and controller, who would think it’s the pumps? Tried them all separately after vinegar on a new power supply, manifold, cords, remote, etc (all spares) except the wave maker and no changes. Which elminates my other items, but what caused it will drive me bat shxx crazy.

If the three are on there own sub module maybe something shorted the module out and the pumps connected to them?

Are things atleast kindof back up and running?

Hello,

Spoke with current usa and wow what amazing customer service. Within the same day they sent new replacements (have to send old ones back) but so worth it. I’d love for them to tell me what went wrong or how they fix it. But should have the new ones in one or two days so again I’m very impressed. It has saved me a lot of stress knowing that if equipment fails I’m going to be taking care of. They will always have my business and support. Now I will have to fix my wire mess, power supply mess from me trying to fix the problem. But in all, I turned the other three wave makers on full stream 100%, and turned the returns up to about 80% and turned the gyre up to max power as well. Definitely still have movement still not as much but enough to my softies move pretty good and both upper and lower seems to have tons of flow. I did change my return nozzles where one goes across the top and the other shots at a 45 degree angel down behind the rock work. But will ask for a new diagram on how to run 6 wave makers and into the Bluetooth I managed four but need to make things clean and simpler.

Hello;

Actually I made it more complex than that because I wanted full control. So each wave make has its own manifold and they daisey link together. Then the first one links into the ic hub manifold which from there links to the ic loop controller.

Hopefully I can now hook them all into the blue tooth controller and just use my phone and they have night mode speeds which is nice. I’m not tech Savy so will need help the first time. But this should eliminate the ic hub manifold and ic loop controller also. Which is fabulous lol. But I’m honestly stumped that all three failed right after feeding. It’s still driving me nuts.

Haven’t you had to send quite a few things back to them that have broken? I did a search on forums for current usa wavemakers and a lot of people have the same issue you have. They go bad after a few months to a year. Any big company like ecotech, maxspect, reef octopus all have warranties and will send you replacements, that isn’t some special thing current USA does. If my equipment kept breaking from the same brand I would switch brands lol. I just want you to have continued success.

Hello,

My wave makers were beta testers so they are little over two years old and never had issues with mine. I bought a third light and it didn’t come with a power supply from the person I bought it from, but they sent me a new one for free (the whole light lol which they went for 800 when they came out). 80 percent of my stuff from current has been given to me new as a beta tester. They also were nice enough to send me an extra ramp timer because when I bought the other one it didn’t have the power supply or ramp pro timer but I bought them online from chewy. I have had issues w my skimmer from eshopps twice, but this is the very first time any issues with current. Yet at thleast same time all three are off warranty and they still replaced them for free. That’s where I love their service, no way would Ecotech or hydra replace anything out of warranty. As I think deeper i umm did drop my 72 inch light all the way to the bottom of my tank which burned it out. They replaced that as well with no cost so I adore them. However eshopps find every reason to charge me or sell me a new skimmer lol. I bought the s300 gen 3 and I prefer my old reef dynamics over that one. But I’m sure I will eventually have something go out again, nature of the hobby. I am very much different than some or well odd I guess. The fancy name and price means nothing, but how they take care of me when I have something I need fast or is critical is what sells me. I may be wrong but doesn’t Ecotech regardless of warranty make you send in the old with the deposit? Then after they review it, they fix your old one and refund your money? Maybe I’m wrong but they sent me 3 new ones next day and just asked me to send the others back. Which is why I love them some don’t have 900 laying around for a deposit, or 400 for a mp40 etc.

With that also said, if all of a sudden I have problems every few months yeah I’m going with someone else lol. I will never by eshopps skimmer again that’s for certain. I’m definitely with you on the continued success.

Might be off topic but I was curious what you're new build build will have skimmer wise?

Hello,

I honestly have no idea but have had some thoughts on it. It will definitely be dc controlled but most of the ones I like are taller than I am. But Tunze make really good ones and reef octopus. Probably will not go the eshopps version the gen 3 are okay the gen 4 are terrible. But went with mitras ghl x7 lights, and may add some t5 as well. But the pumps etc and returns will be current usa again. But it’s an 8 foot long tank so may be forced to get mp60 because of the length, so hoping not.
