Sounds good to me! If you do go with the Lifereef, I would even send Jeff Pink plumbing parts to go inside the skimmer as well. I'll be doing the same with blue a little while after my system is all set up. I already have a blue Lifereef skimmer but all the internal plumbing is white so I want to replace it

When I do replace it I'll be finding someone to give my old one to. Someone who really deserves it obviously

TLol they would never not allow are group to play. 90% pay he heat up front or more and there are like 500 of us which is part of the hospital. If they had told me we were gonna golf I would have stayed home. But when I just picked the ball up and threw it lol like six of them just couldn’t stop laughing. I thought it was a special club the base ball bat but her kids stuck it in there. Of course the child of the group finds it naturally. But first time toss in the air and the whack got people’s attention. Luckily this was on the first hole so they paired me with someone luckily. I don’t see why you say four instead of heads of move or look out. Maybe 6 but why four?

Could I recommend a good tennis racket for your next golf round? It is a lot quitter and the distance is impressive! Thanks for giving us all a laugh! I have been there!

Lol I’m not certain they will ahhh take me again. But yes the sound the golf ball makes on a little league slugger bat is kinda neat gets people’s attention. It went a long ways actually, and a fluke probably couldn’t do it twice.

@JoshH lol maybe I can request who ever I go through to customize my skimmer to have a pink shimmer to it. Little image of the pink panther lighting up as the water goes up the funnel.

You could do an outer clear acrylic cylinder with an inner one with about a 1/2" separation filled with RODI water and glitter with a small pump to circulate it on the bottom. With a vinyl sticker of the pink panther on the outside of the inner cylinder at the front of the skimmer and two 1/4" pump outlets on either side of him to shower him in glitter at all times. With pink interior plumbing, Flourescent Pink acrylic plates and pink LEDS on the bottom of the main chamber to make pink coloured bubbles.

Done.

Well without delay current usa had three new wave makers to me they sent it 2nd day. Not only did they send those but all new hubs power supplies the works. Which means I have to take everything down lol but well worth it.

Which meant I had to rearrange the mounting magnets the last time I did cleaning. I’m curious if I demagnetized the impeller, which seems likely for the way they are acting. To me the only thing I can possibly think if if all three were cleaned at the same time. They were left in the vinegar the same amount if time and the magnet sleeves all swelled the exact same amount. Which all seems insanely unlikely but it would explain the delay in them turning on at low voltages as the expanded sleeves would rub just enough to hold still at lower voltages.

Although I didn't go with LifeReef on my new tank (yet anyway), I do have one in use on another tank. The good thing with them is you don't have to use a specific pump, which means you can upgrade the pump with little fuss. That is important, because a lot of the skimmers available today have the pump inside the skimmer. You can't always replace the pump, should it be discontinued (like what happened to me on my RLSS skimmer). They are old school skimmers that are essentially trouble free. They have an almost cult-like following. There is a LifeReef thread or two on here, if you want to read some more opinions.

@Hemmdog well it was shipped last Thursday according to the email and shows to be delivered by Wednesday, which kinda is a drag because I work Tuesday night and not off till Wednesday night. So may ask a family member to spend the day here so they can sign for it. I not dare leave any packages on my door step, lots of kids people walk away with them and I love in a nice neighborhood.

@Fin the new 425 will be about five to 7 inches taller because of the stand. My 240 is 34 inches tall and I have to drown myself to clean it. The 425 is only 28 tall, but 8 feet long and 36 deep. But it won’t be a struggle to reach the bottom and I won’t bonk my head anymore. However that is also ready to ship but doesn’t it harm a tank letting it sit dry and in a warm garage? I just don’t wanna move it twice and I have been so busy the stand isn’t even ready yet. Nor is much of anything else since I e been studying a lot for exams and still working. My fun time consists of me singing to Aqua in the shower.

Lol they struggle so bad with my accent, which is kinda funny specially if I talk normal speed. They ask me always to slow down and not use it. Ahh lol it doesn’t just go away when I want it to . Lol yes my mum is native from the Uk and it
Comes from her so very proud that my mum gave me a fabulous gift. I miss the uk terribly and really want to go back which has me in turmoil. It is also the reason i have waited to set this up, if I buy a new home in Boise I’d have to move it twice and then if I go to the uk (sorry it was a gift from my mum and dad no selling that one), it’s moved again. I’d hire my lfs to move it in for me so there is no way, and besides most of my friends play golf and anything that weighs more than their club they have some one else do it. (Sadly I don’t have many I’m super shy in person and most people I know from work). So I’m not out much and probably should be but long story.

So my 240 stand I hate its tooo short and it barely fits a 28 inch skimmer in there. I want my stand to be 8 feet by 36 deep and maybe 36 tall. Prefer to have doors on the side open so I can change sumps if needed etc. but I want to be able to have storage and space and even a place for 900000 power supplies (fan cooled, so I have no wire mess and easy accessiblity to any electrical device. Plus with my overflow being literally dead center I may make it like a 365 view. Now cords would be a problem, I have the lights alresdy, and my rock idea would shatter if I did a 365 but still may work if I use the stax rocks and glue from the center out and make structures. But I want to hide the wave makers and have it super clean with no cords or things in the tank. Generally was going to copy @120reefkeeper idea (sorry I have to give credit where it’s due), and hide the pumps. But they were suppose to do an overflow that went in the center across the top of the water, and out the back of the tank. I’d have piles etc but they put a 6X6 cube dead center and the pipes go down the center of it into the sump. So it’s more concealed but Urgh may be the death of me. This has some great ideas aka 365 but throws my stax rock idea out the window.

I used to date a girl from the UK, and I'd have to agree it is a wonderful gift you were given from your mum. Hopefully you stick around here for a while anyway! I get the shy thing, and its especially hard with what you do to make friends outside of work anyway.

Sounds like a closed loop would have benefited you greatly on this setup! How are the center return columns drilled? Is it just one? And is the return fed up through it as well? Its pretty hard to hide cords but if its drilled for a bean animal you could set it up as a herbie and run the power cords for the powerheads you want to run on the center column and run them through the spare pipe.

An all around view tank would be amazing. Just sayin.
