Urgh seriously.

@jlts21 it’s not super bad lol it’s room service with a catch. I’m getting there slowly. My legs are still weak and not super stable yet. Still hurts pretty bad, and my left arm is getting better (the control is coming back).
We’re all rooting for ya! :)

Hello,

Yeah I’m like 92 pounds well when I checked in but should be out tomorrow. The rods and screws sadly were not made out of lead. But titanium and so both legs maybe 5 pounds of it lol. Just think when ever i get to go fly on a plane as soon as I walk through the security gate, all the tsa agents will think they hit the jackpot. I can see 50 of them dog piling me and then say oh ops mama would you like your rods back. Any plans for the new year are you glad this one is over?

@vetteguy53081 I’m hoping to be out tomorrow, it was mainly cautionary because I had strain a or the flu and it’s common to have secondary bacterial pneumonia with it. I can’t say I enjoy the antiviral much lol, yes it helps prevent the spread but the side effects are horrible and makes me wonder if the virus will mutate and just resist it more. There have been warnings and for physicians to use only for high risk. I didn’t see myself as high risk but I also had a major injury so it makes some sense. I have missed you how have you been, how is New Years so far for you? Do you have any good plans?

If it's any consolation, my husband has a bunch of rods and screws in his feet from football injuries. He travels nearly every week and often internationally and doesn't have any issues going through security. Those were put in a few years ago, so I'm sure they're even better and less likely to set off metal detectors now than they were then.

Happy New Year!

Holee crap Sarah !!!

I've read your thread from the beginning but stopped this last summer due to time constraints.
I've just become aware of what's been happening and read backwards to see where you are at ...
I find it hard to fathom what you've gone through since your accident
I've had a boxers break set without freezing, and a couple herniated discs.
Nothing such as the pain you've been through ... and I'm a guy, so no child birth ;)
Carol Burnett said child birth is like taking your bottom lip, and pulling it over your head o_O

I can tell by reading through your posts that you are a very caring person and I'll bet you are a benefit to everyone in your field.
I'd be very happy to have you at my bedside :)
I hope you heal quickly and get back to work soon, and are able to continue with your residency.

Best wishes,
Greg

Sarah, I saw something and thought of you. They make Disney Princess art on canvas. Really pretty. It was not made for kids either.
I've seen those, and they are beautiful. Definitely qualify as art, not children's novelties. Of course, they have the price tag you would expect from Disney! ;Greedy

Hello,

After being on some serious antiviral meds I’m finally done and not throwing up or much of anything. I have slept a lot and it has helped me get my immune system back and was able to go home and that was very nice. My older brother was kind enough to care for my tank while I was gone, and well at least he tried. Between the lfs and him things did okay.

On a less serious note lol my brother thinks I need a career change. I kind of gawked at him, and was curious what he had in mind. Well he said with all my saltwater lights I could be a weed farmer lol. I have no idea what that takes, (nor would I do it), but lol coming up with names for it was fun. You know just the basic stuff we just make it simple weed lol, something more potent, out of your mind, then we have the strongest, jfk’s head. In the rough times I have had the last two months, it was a pretty good laugh. It made being home feel really good and it was nice to just have fun.

professionally speaking ( I would not recommend the use of this substance for any reason, and it will never enter my body), I can’t speak for others. But it was fun coming up with names for different levels of it.

Hello,

Good morning my dear friends, sorry been busy and had some family issues. Brother ate a bite of peanut butter Cookie and he is allergic. Needless to say I had to give him an ephinrine aka EPEE shot, and benedryle, as we took him to the er. Er has to provide two more EPEE injections, administrator oxygen into his lungs, more benedryle and lots and lots of benedryle. They actually kept him over night which didn’t surprise me. But wow he went from normal to full anaphylactic shock in less than 10 min. I’m glad it happened at my home because I live five min away, but it was intense. Doing much better now and he now carries the EPEE pins with him (zones that have not expired,) He should have had new ones anyways. But for all those friends who are allergic to things probably should carry one. You never know it may just buy you time to get help. Every time one has an anaphylactic shock the next one is always much more severe. People also risk rebound attacks, which we are watching him closely. But he is doing well and has morbid as this sounds ahh was kinda fun for me it felt like I was back at work. Though I’d probably have night mares if I had to give him cpr. By the way if you have to do this admin EPEE pin and they are expired, better safe than sorry administrator it. It may not be as strong but may be enough to prevent death.

Hey Sarah, glad you made it back home and you are feeling a little bit better. Good thing you were there for your brother. He is lucky that you were there and had the knowledge and expertise to deal with that situation immediately. Your education came in very handy for your family.

Keep healing up and please keep us updated with how you are progressing!

Hello,

Sorry I have been quiet, it’s been cold here so it makes things hurt a lot more. Been just trying to like most figure life out and manage. Legs are healing slowly and lots of dr appointments, so many that it’s like being at work.

I have not changed much on my reef but it’s getting better and growing. for the first time for me, I had an sps rtn, except the top tip. Even now it still has polyps out and color and the rest is clearly bleached. I have left it alone just hoping it clings on and makes it. I was able to have it fragged (before the whole thing rtn), and that little nub is doing good. however lol this second nub is the very top, and even after a week has great color and polyps even though it’s a little smaller than the piece we broke off to try and save it.

I have these sections in my tank where sps does amazing and sections where it’s terrible. Not sure why yet or how that is working (since it’s the same water and flow doesn’t change), but I have noticed that most of my sps do better a little lower than high. What confuses me is lps and like acans seem to do much better in my tank higher than lower. It’s like completely backwards and will show pics. Regardless it’s starting to look like a natural reef again. Now I have to finish getting rid of the green hair alage (maybe more turbo snails or even urchin), and I have aptasia that are getting large but I can see from the front but we can’t reach from the top. Not sure how to get rid of those other than a file fish and some times they are risky,

I am already running the carbon canister as we speak. What type of purigen do I need? The lfs I normally go to is closed on Tuesdays, and the other shop that I dread going to said my tank is toast. The other shop said they have no idea what to do. Yes both nephews are definitely in time out and banded from my living room.
Gotta love family. Lol

Lord you've been through the ringer. Im about to be part metal with you. Having a good day Friday off work. Grabbed a piece of plywood & SNAP! Ruptured my distal bicep tendon. Felt like a big rubberband broke and curled up my arm.

Hello,

Ahhhhhh you so just made me cringe, oh that doesn’t feel good I bet. To be truthful it hurts really bad, just some people can tolerate pain, me I’m a baby I hate it. What was the prognosis they gave you and treatment?

@Equalizer069 lol yeah they are a bunch off goofballs but in extreme times and in the clutch I’m glad they are family.

Ruptured distal tendon. I have an appt at Andrew's today to see the extent of damage. The surgery is kind of like the tight rope they do for high ankle sprains. They retrieve the tendon then attach it with a screw back to your forearm. Whatever you do don't ever Google the procedure suppose to be done to you.

Bye bye coral $$. Hello insurance bills

Hello,

So it’s been a little over 2 months since I decided to rearrange my bone structure lol. The positive is well I can walk again, not very well at this point, but more stable than before. The scars are healing as expected, well better than I had expected. Here are some after pics 60 ish days from when I had to have surgery. Granted lol my mum had to help me take these because I’m not stable enough to well be on one leg yet, but shows how fascinating the body is and can heal. Yes lol I have lots more scars from the accident (surgery ones lol (not including emotional), however I’m just comfy showing my knees :).

My bones are healing, just taking longer which is normal. Getting muscle strength back is helping but it’s still small baby steps. Still have to use braces on right leg and left sometimes. It’s my goal to use the walker and time with out it to get comfortable again. It’s pretty tricky when you hear sounds in your legs when you apply weight and pressure. I have days where I think I’m made out of legos.

Now that makes me cringe. I didn't realize I was claustrophobic until I was in the mri machine. I was trying my best not to freak out. I was face down doing the superman, but if I was on my back im not
sure I could stand it long.
