uronema or not?

Hi Fellow Reefers

Today after observing my tank I noticed one of my 7 Chromis was injured. Just want to check in with you experience reefers.

It looks like it's hurt it self most likely grazed the rock or something.

However also concerned this could be uronema.

The fish seems very healthy, no signs of struggle and feeding well.

yes Uronema. Its a disease that attacks the tissue from within and in whole you will want to get Quick Cure. If none, then Ruby rally Pro (acriflavine). Or chloroquine .
Best treatment choice is a 45 min formalin bath using Quick Cure then finished in a quarantine tank. Once in QT tank, treat and assure that the parasites have been eliminated. You can also soak food in metronidazole . . . Seachem Metroplex for 10-14 days.

While the red stripe is 100% classic Uronema, there seems to be another line crossing it diagonally. That isn’t Uronema, I’m not sure what’s going on there.
Inter cellular Uronema just isn’t treatable, by the time you see the skin damage, the real tissue damage has been done. Chloroquine can help reduce it in tank water, metronidazole would be a second choice. Here is a link to an article I posted here on this subject:

Thank you guys ! Iv just set up hospital tank , im going to move tye chromis over and monitor him for a few days.

The only treatment I manged to get today NT Labs anti parasite.

Hopefully this is not Uronema and just a flesh wond , however nit taking any chances.

I'll keep you all updated on this little fella.

I think the red part looks like uronema - or a bacterial infection from an injury. I also think the fish looks 'unhealthy' in general - i.e. thin.

Yeah now iv had a closer look , I agree he does look unhealthy, the issue I can't catch him out of the tank , he is just too fast

I agree with Jay. If true uronema then, by the time it expresses, the fish is pretty much doomed.

Iv managed to capture the fish now , iv got him in medical tank under treatment. After closer in inspection it does honestly look like a flesh wond.

Not worth the risk to the remainder of my live stock so I'll keep eye on the progress and update.

Just to provide an update , dont this this turned out to be Uronema , the fish survived my medial tank under bacterial treatment (NOT COPPER) the soars healed up nicely and returned to my display tank.

The one thing I have learnt from this is not matter how unsure you are its best to remove any unhealthy looking fish and treat sperately in a hospital tank.
