use of live phytoplanktin

I would like to give my corals a boost in nutrients here, really new to the saltwater industry. Have had my 120 going for about year and a half. I want to add live phytoplanktin to tank but have also seen in passed when i have done this my nitrate levels really elevate. Do water changes every ten days, tank and fish are really healthy. Just feel my corals are dull and lacking here. ANY ADVICE let me know Thanks Everyone

Live phyto icrease nitrate level only if si taken too early i.e. phertylizer has not been metabolized by phyto
Or too late phyto colture start to crush

Thanks for the feed back here, i am really new to this project and am having tough times getting direct answers for my questions. You are correct pulled sample 1 hour after water change and adding phytoplanktin and got my extreme results here. will re sample and keep an eye on this. My ph is running an 8.0 and i will try to raise this more with kalk +2 slowly here, i am up for any advice here. thanks again
