Use of old sand

I don’t know if anyone have posted about this
I left some sand outside one bucket with rain water filled and one with out saltwater sealed bucket
Can I still use those sand if I were to wash them throughly

I don't see why not as long as they weren't exposed to any yard chemicals or such while sitting outside

Thanks wasn’t sure because it was left over sand from tank
now one of my friends wants to start a tank
