Used 40g tank

I am looking at a tank on Craigslist. I am attaching a photo. It is a 40 gallon. I was wondering ideas of what is floating around in tank and on the rocks? Brand new to saltwater. I am researching before I “start” a tank. Picture attached is The sellers photo not mine. Thank you in advance.

If you’re referring to the pink stuff it looks like Coraline Algae. Not floating but growing on the glass and rock. Good thing to see, whether you want it on the glass is personal preference.

My only suggestion based on what little can be seen in the picture is that unless it's already drilled or there is something else exceptional about it, that a brand new 40 Breeder can be purchased for ~$40 during Petco's sales. And it's been a while since I've seen many tanks come with the wood look trim so you could potential get a brand new tank for $40. But maybe there's something we don't know from the limited picture.

If you have not seen the tank or don't know the history of livestock, then you may not know if the tank was ever treated with medications that may not be safe to what you want to stock it with.
