Hi

I bought a used 50 gallon cube ( Cadlights brand ) and have a couple questions. The tank had quite some deposit and sand when it came. I did a through cleaning using tap water, salt, and vinegar.

1) Should I reseal the tank ? The tank hasn't been used for 2-3 years, and had no water in it during this period. I don't know if it's stored all indoor and it's freezing cold here in winter. But the silicone is still quite soft. In addition the tank looks very new after cleaning and very good shape. The silicone is thin meaning nicely done.

2) For a leak test, can I just run tap water for 2 weeks to see if it holds or I have to use RODI water as well?

That cleaned up well...nice work. My suggestion is to fill it, and yes you can just use regular water, and let it run as a leak test. This assumes all the seams look to be in tact. May want to do it in garage or someplace other than on those good looking floors...just in case.

Thanks !!! Good suggestions to do that in some other places. Will do

Check the seals. You should be able to do a visual check to see any bubbles or damaged areas. If that passes do the leak test
