hi all reef2reef,
I am interested in upgrading to a larger tank, one question in particular:
I have a used 6 foot 120 gallon tank which a friend gave to me, and was thinking about removing the old sealant from the glass, and getting each panel cut to a slightly smaller size. This is thick glass, maybe 1". Would I be safe cutting the glass and re using to build a smaller tank? No cracks, no chips; no real scratches. Was stored outside under a roofed porch for 2 years.
Any tips or tricks to safely pulling this off?
Or would I be ok to simply remove the old silicone, and reseal the tank without cutting it?
Help is greatly appreciated.
