I bought a large calcium reactor that came with a bunch of media in the chamber. The bottom of the reactor was already a little green from when I purchased it. Is it safe to rinse and re-use or is it wise to just toss it out and buy new?

As the media dissolves you can top it off one or two times, but if starting with it fresh on your tank, I would also suggest new media with a fresh clean reactor.

Not only will that eliminate the potential of inconsistencies or cross contamination, but as you ramp up the gas you will get an understanding of how fast you are “burning” through new media as not all of it dissolves evenly.

TLF reborn is what I use on my tanks.
