Bought a used marine pure and he was letting it dry out. It is currently getting a 3:1 ratio vinegar:RO water bath. I have a small power head in there to keep water moving. How many days is this necessary and how should I rinse it when done? Does it need to dry before putting it into running mature system??

Thanks for the help.

Thanks! Well getting a vinegar bath already so just rinse and dry I guess?

I too clean everything with vinegar. I would agree with @chefjpaul. If you just rinse it off and let it dry, you should be okay. As to how long to soak, I vinegar things from an hour or two to days - when I forget I'm cleaning something...lol.

I wouldn't for too long. I think that those blocks are made out of a ceramic but the weak acid could start eating it a little. Maybe a day or 2 at most?

Would you guys recommend me rinsing it with RO after also or does it not matter?

Hold on guys , isn't vinegar a carbon source for bacteria , if your putting USED marine pure in a vinegar bath won't that cause the bacteria to multiply like crazy ?
IMO you should put it in a tub, wash it in fresh water and let it c completely dry out in the sun for a couple days , adding that to your mature system even after the vinegar bath could cause a bacteria bloom and even be toxic to your coral and fish , marine pure stays wet for hours and is very porous

I didn't have an issue.
It dries out / evaporates
