I stupidly used Reef Buffer in my tank. Now my GSP, Hammer and Goniopora are all shriveled up for about 8 hours. Are they going to die? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tank is a 13.5 fluval. I used about 1/2 teaspoon if that. I shouldn’t have used it and now regret it

I don’t think they’ll die your PH is probably just way to high. Did you test it what is your PH currently? If anything just do a 50% water change, and don’t dose for awhile. Let things mellow out.

It’s like 9.3 but I did a big water change and am just leaving it be for now. Other corals seem fine but those ones haven’t recovered. I read too much and try fixing everything rather than letting it just be a tank and not fixing anything untold a problem arises

Instructions say 1tsp to 40 gallons raises ph by 0.1.

Anyway, I think you should do a large water change and aerate the tank heavily to bring CO2 in equilibrium to lower the ph.

We never recommend ph additives since they always raise alkalinity.

I never use them. First time and last time. Just laziness on my part. I did a big water change.
