So I picked up a used 75g and the guy threw in his Caribsea sand which I wasn't sure if I was going to use or not. Well tonight I cracked open the bucket he gave me, and the sand had a nice sand/beige color to it. I mixed it up and almost vomited due to the extreme sulfur smell. I noticed that the sand under the top layer had a grey color. I rinsed it multiple times and it still just looks grey, almost like wet cat litter. I'm guessing I should just trash this stuff?

IMO it's not worth saving......go with a bare bottom tank and save the money for something else and save the bother for another occasion. :P Or just buy new sand....doesn't cost much.
