When you have used up DI resin does it affect your TDS reading?

+1 yes, it dosent filter the nasty out any more so it would need to be replaced. Otherwise the TDS goes up.

Yes and it can actually go much higher than the tap water TDS was to begin with since it has been storing up dissolved solids over time.
Even before DI resin is exhausted it starts releasing weakly ionized substances like nitrates, phosphates and silicates in to the treated water. Some of these are hard to measure with a hobbyist grade TDS meter so I recommend changing your reasin at the first signs of anything other than 0 TDS in the treated water.

not that I am awar of drain, but if so i am open to it as well. LMK if you find one!

thanks sharks! Guess I shouldn't have thrown away the last batch...dangit. I'll have to give this a go after I've saved up a few cartridge's worth.

Oh, and thanks for letting us use you instead of google- I figure it as a filter of sort as google will tell me all sorts, but reef2reef will have a person who's familiar with it point out a more gooder source of info
