I store in a 34gal brute, Then use 5gal buckets to make it salty and use as soon as it clears per Red Sea.

I have also had trouble with my large brute. Mine is 32 gallon. As long as I vinegar mine after water change it seems to be ok.. I use mine to mix also.

WHY WOULD YOU NOT USE RED SEA CORAL PRO SALT. regular is for fish only tanks.

Anyways I only use coral pro and I mix it as soon as my mixing container is full of water. I mix per instructions no longer than 4 hours. usually an hour. I use a 32gallon brute and make 25 gallons at a time. There is another thread on r2r about Po4 leaching containers. Trick is make your RO/DI water as fast as you can and mix salt until it's good to go no longer (clear water, temp, and stable PH). IF you do this your potential for Po4 is a lot less. RO/DI water is pure so it absorbs whatever it can from air, container, your hand. I know that brutes are food safe but not sure they are rated for potable water. I think a glass tank would be perfect for making and mixing but not very mobile but if you got the room.

Also I buy my salt in the commercial bag which make 200 gallons for the same price I think I pay $65 use it and then put the rest in one of your salt buckets in bag with lid on bucket.

I have learned that I can get better deals at the LFS if I ask for a cash price. We all know what that means for someone running a biz.

last time I checked my Po4 was 0.06 from tank
I have not tested the water from my mixing container

While running Ecobak the Alk on Pro/Reg Red Sea varies beyond what is recommended by Jon Warner, in my experiance the Pro mixes up way higher than the 8dkh that the regular does and that's what is the best range when running Ecobak. The pro when i tested was in the 10-12dkh range and higher than i wanted. All in all just a matter of personal preference when running Bio-Pellets.
