I picked up a canon t5 for taking fish pictures and I need to get a macro lens, well since I dont want to spend a lot to "play around", I can get a Older Macro Lens thats a FD mount and then get a adapter and be under $50

Has anyone ever used the older FD mount lenses with the EF adapter? I know they work as I have read post but haven't heard or read about macro shots

Or there are the Macro Tubes that I have read about

Unless I’m mistaken, FD lenses are all manual focus but that shouldn’t really be much of an issue unless you want to photo some quick moving fish.

the 50mm 1.4 would be a pretty good one to use with extension tubes. The 50/1.4 will be equivalent to about an 85mm (this is because of the 1.6x crop cannon apsc uses) and the extension tubes will help reduce the minimum focus distance. This, minus the extension tubes, will also work for a nice manual portrait lens.
