I have a Jabeo cross flow and I want to Introduce a second at the other end of the tank to alternate flow. I simply want one to run for a minute or 2 then switch to the other. I cant find any aftermarket controller which I can buy which is compatible with the Jebao cross flows to achieve this.

The Hydor Koralia smart wave controller is a simple on/off controller switching from one channel to the other. Do you think this would damage the Jabeo controller by constantly powering it on and off ?

I cant see any other option for me other than to change pumps or buy an apex.

Thanks!

Doesn't the Jebao cross-flow have this capability built into the Jebao controller? I thought they offered on/off, gradual on/off, constant, and random.

I'm not familiar with how the crossflow is made

But with a regular powerhead, if it's not designed for Pulsing, the powerhead will breakoff an internal plastic piece that keeps it from running in Reverse Flow.

With the constant on/off on a non pulse powerhead, it will eventually break and start running in reverse

So idk, pushing a crossbow to do smthg its not designed for may cause it to reverse flow

Hi! I dont want to use the hydor conroller to pulse or reverse.

The jabeo controller does pulse, random, constant etc which is great but i want it to run 2 crossflows which alternate. One crossflow will run for 3 minutes then switch to the other. Both crossflows will be on pulse modes using their own controllers and they remember their setting when the power is shut off.

I just don't know if turning the jabeo controllers on and off a few hundred times a day will do any damage or wear them out...

I don't think you understand what I'm saying

If you pound a waterflow device not designedto take on/off...on/off.... you will stress the unit and BREAK it.

Whenever you use it, it will be faulty running in reverse.

My guess you'll be throwing the crossflows in the trash around September

Most programable wave makers have a on off feature...

I have a reef flow wave maker also in the tank which runs 5 seconds off and 5 seconds on.

But I get your point and won't risk it. Thanks
