Using activated carbon

Hello all!

I just began cycling my tank today using dry rock, live sand and dr tims. My AC 70 filter is running and has activated carbon on it. Should I use it or take it out?

I personally don't see a need for it yet but others with more experience may chime in

Take it out. The instructions on the bottle tell you to do. Basically, it is just so the bacteria don't start proliferating on the carbon that will just be thrown out or rinsed.

Nevermind, if Dr. Tim's tells you to remove it you might as well. It won't hurt either way.

Don’t see it helping or hurting. I don’t recall ever using it while cycling.
