I have a few corals coming on the way for delivery, and unfortunately do not have any non expired coral rx. I went to Home Depot and could only seem to find this that was as close as I could get. However it’s a spray. Would I be alright to say spray the water then use the power head? Possibly spray the coral?

I would not, the spray might have some extra component to make it a spray

Is it like a regular spray type that you constantly have to pull the trigger or is it a propellant type of can?
A lot of times they put other chemicals when it's a propellant. Also because it's a metal can they tend to add other stuff.

Seems as if it’s a propellant. I guess I shouldn’t use it

Do you have a Lowes? I just picked some up at lowes yesterday.

I do, a little farther out. Maybe attempt another try later on tonight. What do you use for a ratio?

Up to 10 ml to 4oz of water for 5 minutes. Then immidiately into a cup of fresh tank water for a minute or two to wash of the residual. Inspect you shouldn't have to redo but if you do repeat.

Make sure you wear gloves, it's gentle on corals not on people.

Also of you feel like you have a very sensitive coral you can use as little as 1ml, but I would at least do 5. I have used it on multiple softies, zoas, a few sun corals, and Los and never had an issue using 10 ml.

Pretty sure home depot stopped carrying it. Lowes still does though.

Unfortunately just wasted my time considering the Lowe’s near me closes at during the holidays rather than the normal 10 pm. Guess I have to put my corals in my tank with no stuff :confused:

Dang bro, that sucks. I'm pretty sure it's not the same thing, as home depot stopped carrying the correct bayer because of one of the ingredients. The one we use for dipping corals is more for soil and turf critters, like grub worms and whatever else lives down there. That spray looks like maybe it's for "surface insects". Probably not worth risking it, which I gather you've already come to that conclusion.

Good luck! You could inspect best as possible and dip them tomorrow. Better than nothing I would think?

I finally got some! Despite looking for 5 mins at Lowe’s where it was supposed to be... I didn’t look up!

Now just waiting for the corals to be dropped off. Looking for the best method for dipping as well. Thinking few tuberware contatiners.

Good deal man, glad you found it! Yeah, I just use 3 Tupperware containers. One looks like skim milk, the other 2 for rinsing twice. If the box the corals were shipped in include a heating pad, I put that under the bayer dipping bowl. If not, I usually don't worry about the temperature too much. I leave in for 10 to 15 mins generally.

There are way more detailed instructions here on r2r and online, but after so many times I find thr bayer pretty forgiving and gentle on the coral.

Do you use a power head or not? Dilemma is... I only have so many 5 gallon buckets, and also don’t want to have to re use the bucket other than to dip stuff in. Would the two fresh buckets be fine you think to say use one as a dip bucket and then clean the two fresh buckets for rinsing then be able to rinse them out and use for my water changes?

I use a syringe and blow off around the frags (with gloves) while they are in the bayer. I dont use a powerhead. Yes I would mark the one bucket that you do the actual dip in and keep that only for dipping. The rinse buckets would be fine if you clean them out aftwrwards. I personally would just use tap water and rinse them out and not think twice about using them later. But you could get even more involved if you want.
