Would appreciate some input in relation to adding more Bio Filtration media to my nano reef such as MarinePure Gems? I would like to add something like that in the 2nd chamber, but am afraid of them becoming detritus/nitrate factories. I have heard mixed reviews on using additional bio-filtration media, but it seems like a lot of people do choose to use it. What is the best way to use a product like that, and what do you recommend in terms of a cleaning routine?

Personal experience: I currently and have ran a large amount of ceramic bio-filtration media in my sump/fuge for a easily over a year. I don't clean it because it is a copepod factory and their safe haven. Please note that I do carbon dose and dose bacteria regularly in my system. Last time I test NO3 I was at <5ppm.
