I'm planning to use bleach to clean my QT tank as my new fish is dead due to velvet but I'm afraid that the tank silicon will absorb the bleach.

Anyone able to some experience?

I use vinegar when cleaning my equipment. You can also wipe things down with Denatured Alcohol. The Alcohol will evaporate leaving sterile items.

Silicone will not absorb bleach, so no worries.

Bleach readily begins to breakdown into the atmosphere rather quickly, why it smells so much. Use a dilution for disinfecting children’s toys, 3 tablespoons per gallon. Bleach is more effective with cold water for this purpose as the warmer the water the faster it decomposes.
Rinse and let air dry :)

I've bleached a few tanks over the years with no harm done.
I rinse it a couple times and use alot of API Tap Water Conditioner .

Air dry by itself is fine. No need to rinse. I’ve done it plenty of times as part of the tank transfer method.
