using carbon media in octo classic 1000

so i just got a new octo classic 1000 qnd in the setup video the guy says you can use the amall chamber for carbon or other media. what do you guys think. can u just add a sock with carbon in there?

Sure, nothing wrong with that. You can also buy a little mesh bag and fill it with carbon. Fwiw I only use carbon if something odd is going on in my tank
