I bought some chaeto gro when i had a brief play with an algea reactor, ive now built a turf scrubber and its starting to work as it should, the question is...

Should i use chaeto gro with a turf scrubber, common sense tells me the turf scrubber is essentially doing the same job by growing an algae as the reactor so dosing back in the elements would be a wise thing, but this is the salt water aquarium hobby so sometimes common sense isnt all that

Any ideas?

Yep, use CheatoGro. The question is how much.

I grow Ulva and use how well it grows and how rigid the fronds are to set the dose. I add about 1/7 the recommended daily dose, i.e., add one daily dose on one day every week.

I assume even if the turf scrubber turns into a slime scrubber, trace elements are going to become depleted.

Ok thanks, like all turf scrubbers theres a definite slime as its the beginning of the process but its definitely now growing green tufts, ill start to add some then
