Using cpvc cement?? Am I out of luck?

Hi all,

so I grabbed a pack of pvc primer and cement but it actually turned out being cpvc cement..

I am just using this as a way to do some water changes so no high pressure and no extreme pressure and the water is on its way out not going to stay within the tank... do you think I will be okay?

CPVC cement is fine for PVC but PVC cement is not good for CPVC.

I suppose there is a chance CPVC cement is somehow bad for reef tanks? I didn't really think of that and have no clue. But from a gluing standpoint, you are fine.

+1 on Cell's suggestions. Also might want to think about how orange and purple will look on your plumbing. I would return it and get clear.

That’s the thing... it’s not something that’s going to be used more than once a week.. like part of the water change schedule.. didn’t plan on leaving it on all the time... (all though I kinda like the idea of it...)

It actually worked really well.. what I wanted was something to remove the water fast for water changes with out needing to do it in 4 5gallon bucket cycles for a 20 gallon change.. this was easy put the hose outside and just flipped the switch.
