I have a 43 g Red Sea that I have used several large segments of dead stag horn coral along with other live rock for aquascaping. The system is 6 months old and all parameters are steady except Alkalinity and it requires 25ml of the baking soda part 2 solution to maintain KLH OF 11. Is there any reason for this? I only have 4 fish, 4 rock flower anemone, and a clean up crew.

May I ask what your Mag and Cal levels are? And are you dosing the same amount of Cal as Alk?
You really shouldn't have a crazy high consumption rate, although coraline algae will uptake some.

My Ca is 440 and steady Mg is1400 and neither is being dosed. Only 20% water change monthly. Only 2 spots of coralline algae the size of 1/4 inch dia.
