So I have a sulfur denitrator running on my 560 gallon and I’ve added a few reactors after the denitrator. One had carbon and some cuprisorb and the last one I added a few days ago is full of carx media. I had an extra ph probe so I added it to the reactor and the ph inside it is 5.75. Stays pretty steady too. I’ve got a pretty good stream coming out of it too. Now the reactor Likeky only holds a few pounds of media but what I’ve thought of doing is adding a carx sized right for my tank and using the effluent to feed it. To control the ph in the reactor I was thinking I’d add 2 feeds to the reactor.. one just from the tank and the other from the denitrator that way I can set it up that if the ph is to low.. which it should be then I can just feed it with tank water to raise the ph inside the reactor. Am I missing something or should this work?

So I thought I better update this. Well it turns out that I actually broke my ph probe when I pushed it into the reactor duh. So the ph wasn’t nearly that low. It was more around 7.25 after getting a new one. I did make myself a huge reactor that holds about 50lbs of ARM media and I’ve been feeding the effluent into it. The first day I let it run at the 7.28 and it make my alk rise by .2 with just a drip a second coming out. I can maintain the 7.25 ph with basically a stream coming out so lots of room for demand growth. To dial it in I added a second feed to the reactor that feeds tank water to it and it’s controlled by a solenoid valve that opens when the ph gets to low. Right now I’m at 7.55 to see if it settles. Kind of an interesting experiment. I know since adding it my corals have never looked better. Here’s a few pics
