Using Fluconazole to cure bryopsis on a biocube

I have been battling with the bryopsis for over 2 years with no success so I gave up on the hobby. All my fish died and most of my corals died. I was about to take the entire tank down and decided to research if there were any new ways to remove bryopsis. I came across a thread on here where someone used this stuff and showed results. I was shocked and started doing more research and reading other users using Fluconazole with success. So I called my doc to get a prescription not easy as this drug is meant for women. I picked up 6 100mg tablets crushed them into powder and mixed with some RO water in a cup. I removed all sponges and filter media from my tank, removed phosban reactor, and turned off skimmer. The day before I removed some of the bryopsis and did a 20 gallon water change. I then poured the Fluconazole solution in the display side. Here are pics every day so far. I will update this every day til day 14.

I completely got rid of Bryopsis in my BC29 using Fluco! Some of yours looks like hair algae to me though. Not to worry though because people are having success with that too, it just takes longer. It seems to work best in high flow high light. I had some stubborn growth hidden behind and under rocks, so after 14 days I did a water change, ran carbon for 2 days and treated again, turning the rocks over to expose them to the flow and light. I would hand remove it first then use the fluc to prevent growback, that's a serious approach to turning the tank around. we should do a sandbed blast rinse too, remove all the detritus it may hold

less intense white lighting and better blue w help as well, today's LED's set on strong white are growing algae in tanks where a bluer setting doesn't as an interesting trend in algae issue threads just brainstorming options.

Here are pics from 03/17/17 I started on the 4th. It look likes it's working but I think I'm going to try another dose of 800mg.

Let it run its course. I used 200mg in a 30 waited three days and removed a bunch manually. It's all gone after only 8 days. I have one tiny spot of Gha I want to see if it dies so I'll wait the full 21.

Yea. It's tough to wait. But in my case I'm not really waiting for anything.

If its GHA it does take longer. Much of that is also calurpa. I really have to say do some scrubbing to help it.

I wanted to post an update. So I did a smaller second dose and I would say in about a months time my bryopsis has been completely wiped.

Just in case anyone comes to this post. I had Bryopsis all over my tank. The First pic i posted shows what was left after i stopped manually removing it. It killed 90% of all my corals. I used Fluconazole and it worked or least i thought it did. The Bryopsis was gone it stayed like that for about a month and then it came back I used Fluconazole several other times and it would kill it but eventually come back. I ended up Tearing down the entire tank and bleaching the Rocks and starting over.
