Using Fluidized Moving Bed Filter as Biopellet Reactor?

I'm trying to put together a cheap reactor, was was thinking of using a moving bed filter intended for plastic bio media, and replacing it with biopellets. I've attached a link, it's powered with an air pump instead of a water pump. I haven't found any videos of others doing this, so I don't know if it's a good idea or not.

 
I don't think that will make enough flow inside to tumble the pellets.
