Im curious, has anyone used Harvested Cheato in their house plants? I was thinking of drying it out and burying it in the soil of some plants and using it as a fertilizer. I use Skim mate mixed with fresh water ( dilute it Quite a bit) and my plants are the brightest green I've ever had them.

Any insight would be great!
Also im working on setting up a wormery to use for my compost to provide soil and worm juice to plants and will likely dry CHeato and put in there but looking for an alternative until then

Thanks

Good Ideas

I don't know the salt content of chaeto, but most houseplants do not tolerate salt.

If you rinse it, it is not salty, just like fish tissue is not particularly salty. Cells need a certain interior salt content that is much below NSW.

All my chaeto reapings that I can't give away (which is most) goes into the mulch pile. Maybe that's why my tomatoes taste a little fishy.:p

This is a great idea actually...all the excess chaeto will have some use other than being thrown in the trash
