Using macro algae as fish food

Is it okay to feed my Tangs with the macro algae grown in the refugium, or should I stick with store bought seaweed strips?

I do it often. I have cualerpa prolifera in my sump, and the tangs and foxface will strip it clean in a matter or minutes. If you're depending on the macroalgae for nutrient export, then this is not the most efficient way to achieve that. However, there's nothing wrong with giving your tangs a little fresh salad if they will eat it
