I currently have a 4 stage rodi filter that measures 4 TDS. Instead of buying replacement membranes and filters I just ordered a while new 6 stage unit. Would it make any sense to plug this old unit to output into the new one to have it last longer? Or would there be enough pressure? My logic is would be that the new filter now only has to do 4TDS>0 instead of 200 TDS tap water >0.

Thanks for any input.

I wouldn't, but the old canisters are good for making reactors for: GAC, GFO, CO2 scrubber or Carbon Air filter, etc.

No need for dual carbons, it is actually counterproductive as long as you are using one good low micron carbon block and it is protected by an equal micron sozed or smaller sediment filter.
You cannot place RO systems in series without a booster pump to bring the pressure back up between the first and second.
