Hey guys, I'm going to remote my sump through the wall into the garage. Kinda thought a "coffee table" looking stand would be nice. It would be more aesthetic than the typical plywood box. Does anyone have experience with this style of stand? My tank is 60g, 24x24 footprint, thinking of 28-30 table top size with legs directly under the corners of the tank. I want to use prefab legs and brace them with 1x4s along the top. As many screws as necessary.

Depending on the material for the top. My concern would be "racking". You would have to brace the leggs to keep this from happening.

Saltwater weights around 8.6 pounds per gallon. Times that of the total water volume of your DT tank is what your stand would need to hold up securely.

It will be in the corner of the room. I could just send a few screws into the wall studs...

At approximately 24”, that would give you possibly one single stud to screw into. Of course depending on you having the standard 16” on center wall studs and the exact placement of the table in relation to studs. If you build the table appropriately then you shouldn’t need to put any screws into the studs. Plus, if it’s a short coffee table that will help

One of your biggest issues is what that much weight landing in 4 places on your floor. You need to check what your sub floor is made of.. If you can get under the floor maybe putting blocking in exactly where each of the legs will land to help disperse the weight to the Joist .Even doing this I discourage a 4 leg stand for aquarium of larger sizes. If you have Concrete floors this is not a issue..
