As the title mentions, i'm going on my 3rd day of trying to encourage an Anemone to move by using the direct flow of a powerhead. I've read this works countless times but am starting to wonder 72 hours later if this thing is ever going to move off my gonis?

Even if it moves, if it likes that spot it will probably move back.

Mr Saltwater did a video on this. He concluded that no, it's not guaranteed to work. Do you have any access to its foot to try and massage it out?

If it hasn't worked in that long, it's probably not going to in it's current configuration and is probably just stressing the heck out of it. Don't be surprised if it splits now or when you get it off.
Pictures or videos would help here.

When I have done this successfully, it's never taken more than 30 minutes. I have a small pump (215gph) which is attached to a half inch tube. I direct that flow directly at the foot where I want it to start peeling off. This isn't a set and walk away kind of thing You're going to need to be present as when it does start releasing it can happen fast. If you're not around it could just walk away or release completely and find an intake somewhere.

Show us what you're working with, lots of people ready to help.

I dont believe it works as well as advertised.

if it had the chance maybe. my nem just split so the extras will be rehomed.

no, unfortunately it found a nice hole in a piece of pukani. following this will likely be ice and then if that doesn't work i'll cut the liverock away.

i appreciate your willingness. i'm by no means new to anemone having kept them for 6 years. just was looking to try something new that isn't as destructive as cutting up my rock but unfortunately i'll likely be going back to that lol.

Are you able to remove the rock from the tank relatively easily?

I've read that, if you hang the rock over a container of water, with the anemone dangling down and only partly in the water, it'll eventually drop off into the container. Didn't work on my RFA (it just stretched down and opened up in the water), but it did expose the foot enough for me to manually peel it off. Might be worth a try for you.

This method is only ever worked for me with small ones.

it won't be the worst rock to remove but i've also tried this in the past and had no luck either. i do appreciate the suggestion though!
