Hello I am searching the web and having trouble finding an answer to my question. My girlfriend recently got a betta fish and was wondering if the water from my RODI unit would be okay to use for a freshwater betta tank. It's a BRS 6stage. We did a water test and the water is super hard. Apparently bettas like soft water. Any help or point in the right direction is appreciated. Thank you

No. The fish need water containing minerals and trace elements.

They will possibly die in RODI water.

edit. Also without any buffering, RODI will become acidic very quickly

Use it all the time for my wifes betta fish.

I simply add back whats taken out with seachem replenish.
Didn't know that product existed, but why?

You spend money taking necessary stuff out, then spend more money putting it back in ....

Seems like a solution looking for a problem .. and yes I kept freshwater tanks for decades :)

Ever read a water quality report? Do you trust "conditioner" to remove the chlorine/chloramines, and toxic heavy metals in your water?

I have never trusted "water conditioner" to remove whats not needed. Betta fish of course can live in a muddy pond(and often do in the wild) but I have it, so why not?

I never used to use it either, but I had it on hand for the reef, so why not?
