After doing reading on R2R and other forums I think it’s fair to conclude that weekly doses of vibrant hurt the growth of your Chaeto.

Has anyone tried dosing vibrant then removing their Chaeto for 2-3 days after dosing?

Also, how long can Chaeto stay alive with some tank water and what is the best temperature to keep it at out of the tank?

I bought chaeto and dragons breath and quarantined in a 5 gallon bucket. It had light and a powerhead with no heat source.
It was fine and even grew. I did dose nitrate, some phosphate and Red Sea coral colors C Fe and trace elements.
I’m in miami so I have Ac at 70 at night and turn to 76 during day while at work.

Thanks for the reply. I’m in CLEVELAND, OH so it’s 68 @ night & 73 during the day. So I should probably keep it in some form of heat with a basic light and 5 gallon bucket for the 3 days and it would live?

Oh, for sure. Mine was in 5 gallon with only 2.5 gallons of water for more than a month.
I did 100% water change every week and dosed nitrate, phosphate, Red Sea C after every water change. For quarantine purpose, I rinsed in fresh water before putting in new bucket with new saltwater.
I did use this light
Luxbird P38R 18W Waterproof Aquarium Refugium Light, Par38 LED Grow Light Bulb for Macro Algae Indoor Plants Greenhouse Hydroponics E26, Not Dimmable No clue wether this light is what did the trick, but the chaeto was doubling about every week.
dragons breath grew too. I did not throw that away because I planned on using it in 3 tanks.
This is my fish quarantine

This is my fuge that I’m starting. Just threw away 3/4 of the chaeto this morning. This is the light that is linked above. I don’t like the red, but the macro seems to.

And this is the other dragons breath in my 2 year old 10 gallon.
