Using Vortech Mp40WQD without reeflink?

Not sure where theyre at with Mobius but last I knew it wasnt fully released to the public. Some beta testers were using it to control MP’s but that was all. Again thats last I knew.
Without a reef link or apex WXM manual control is all you got.

Ok thanks for the info, I have mobius for my G5s, but it doesn't have an option to connect pumps.

You might have a bad powerhead.

Assuming you followed the instructions and tested the powerhead assembled together.

And just to be clear, the powerhead and drive are working, I'm trying to connect it via app or on my computer.

As far as using Mobius to control your MP40, you can't. Not sure what the timeline is with this whole covid19 but eventually it will be compatible.

And without reeflink or WXM, you won't be able to control it remotely. Just like everyone else, we are patiently waiting for all of the ETM and AI equipment to be compatible... It's only a matter of time.

Mobius does not have the feature enabled yet. You need WXM, reeflink, to app control them

Why is it a big deal to control powerheads with reaflink or the app? It's cool and all but how many times are you really going to change things once set up. I've just curious.

Really the only thing I would like to know is if my return pump and or powerheads failed. Getting an alert would be nice. This is the only reason I see to get reeflink.

Apex is cool to but as many times as I had "new technology" fail on me I'm kinda turn off with spending my money on something like that.

This isn't a knock on apex or anything I dont own it.

But othere technology has let me down or made me frustrated in the past.

Depends. If you are just going to run a single mode 24/7 then no need for any external control, just use the cludgey buttons on the driver. If you want to move through different modes automatically then you need something like reeflink or WXM.

I truly believe it comes down to ease of operation. I personally see the benefit when using a scene for feeding. I hit the feed scene and the MPs and Vectra drop down to keep the food in the tank rather than the filter sock.

The great thing about Mobius is that it's a free app and when all the software is ready we will use it just like the Apex except you don't have the $800 price tag.

The only thing with Mobius is you have to use there products as of now. Maybe they will come out with a power bar of there own.

The feed mood would be nice to control on my phone. That was one reason I got a vectra.

This is the kind of stuff I was looking to do.
