Hey guys, I just got a Innovative Marine Nuvo 20 Cycled. I plan to use it as a frag tank but I need some good recommendations for Utilitarian fish that eat algae, coral pests, etc. and can also take Hyposalinity. Currently i have one Banggai Cardinal in the tank right now. I Plan on running Hyposalinity once all the fish are in to make sure i dont have to deal with Ich as thats my big concern fish wise. If you have any recommendations or suggestions please put them down below and let me know. Thanks!

I'd do a pink streaked wrasse for pests (peaceful unlike a sizxlIne) and a tailspot blenny for algae (although some risk it will pick at coral).

Thanks! i was thinking the same. just wanted to hear other opinions as well!

Pink Streaked would be best if you have more than one fish in the tank. If you were willing to have it as your only fish then the 6 line wrasse would be a great choice, but definitely not with other fish in that small of a tank.

Thanks! i just found a great article on the forums about them and the pink streaked wrasse will definitely be on the list!

When I got mine at the LFS there were 4. I chose the most active eater of them (all but one ate I think). He has been a super active and reliable eater for me- he ate frozen food day 1 (mysis, brine, pe calanus, reef nutrition roe (which is refrigerated). Now he eats pe mysis flakes in addition to frozen foods, I haven’t tried pellets but I think he’d take them eventually. He ate just fine during my quarantine with copper, medicated food, metro and prazi (I follow hotrocks’ qt protocol). He even eats hair algae (!?!)

feed 2-3 times a day, they are active fish and get skinny if fed too Infrequently

awesome! thats great to hear! i dont plan on running copper but im going to put both my Banggai and any future fish i get through Hyposalinity. im glad to hear hes a great eater!

I would consider treating for internal parasites and flukes as well. Wrasses seems to often have internal parasites

edit- just realized hypo should take care of flukes
