Hi Everyone,
i recently upgraded my tank from a 72 g to a 120g. i had a nice healthy frag about 10 polyps of Utter Chaos in my 72 gallon and since the move, i am down to 1 polyp. the move was not good to them. The one polyp i have has been closed for about 2 to 3 weeks. I have about 15-20 variations of zoas and they are all open and doing well.

my lighting and schedule has remained the same. the only difference i can think of is the location. i moved the utter chaos frag down near the bottom in the new tank. in the 72, they were in the middle of the tank.

My parameters are where they should be: ammo, nit/ates 0.0, sg 1.025, temp is around 78, ca is ~400, alk is ~8.4, mag is 1300-1350 (usually pretty high), phos is low (.25) but present.

lighting is a 6 bulb t5 ho system with relatively new bulbs.

should i move the frag up (more into the light), place the zoa in the shade? should i do a coral dip (peroxide, or iodine, or coral rx)? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dip it, it might be a pest or infection. If something is going downhill I would dip it to make sure.

out of the three options of dips (coral rx, peroxide, or iodine) which do you prefer? i am not very familiar with dips and whats beneficial/harmful.also, once i am done the dip, should i place the coral back in the same place or move it more into light or more in the shade?

Try moving it and see but if it has been closed that long not much youcan do. What happen with the other ones? Didyou frag them?

i am assuming they either died off or melted away. we bought a new house (moved everything in except for the 72g). my wife and i were going back and forth (new house to old house) to maintain the 72g tank for about a month. In the mean time, i had set up the 120g. i have a good amount of zoas in my tank so i wasnt really paying too good attention while it was at my old house. But all i do know is now that the move is over, and the new tank is up and running, my utter chaos are down to one ****** off polyp. i know that was a little too much info.

by the way, i did my weekly water change and i dipped the zoa in Revive. once i was done i placed it back in my tank (middle) where it was located prior to my move. hopefully that will help it. ill give it a couple of weeks and see if it wont open then try to move it again.
