A few months ago bought a 3P frag of utter chaos, they grew from 3->11 polyps in about a month and have been doing fine until the last 2-3 weeks where they have just shrunk completely, they are still open when the light is on but stay super small and dont expand out. I have other zoas that are doing fine and some that have still been multiplying over the same period.

params:
temp - 78
salinity - 1.025
nitrate - 0
pH - 8
phosphates - 0
calcium - 440
alk 6.7

Tank - 10gal nuvo

Alk looks a bit low so I have been dosing a small amount of b-ionic alk per instructions on the bottle. but no improvements to the utter chaos

nitrate/phosphates seem to be there since I have been dealing with some nuisance algae..is the algae just starving them out?
Very possible depending on amount of algae and type. Can you shoot a few photos?

Previously i was dealing with diatoms, but got rid of those by just keeping everything stable and doing water changes (one of the biggest victories of my life), right now i have some GHA and bubble algae though - mainly on the sand/some of my frag plugs, nothing crazy but their presence combined with 0 nitrates/0 phosphates is a bit disturbing. also i've been experimenting by feeding a bit heavier but still 0's
